Our Story
The idea of founding Fem. began during a weekend getaway at the Lake Constance. Surrounded by nature we found a space for sharing inspiring conversations and cumulated our creative energy. We sorted ideas that had been floating in our minds for a long time. It quickly became clear: We were both deeply passionate about women’s health, and we felt a strong pull to create something of our own together.
At that time, Lea had already spent some time exploring how to align with the female cycle and its challenges - drawing on insights from doctors, research, and women’s health communities. The more she learned, the stronger the feeling grew that this knowledge needed to be shared. Keeping insights that could genuinely improve women’s quality of life felt like gatekeeping. That’s when she decided to become a licenced coach. By becoming a coach, she not only wanted to share these insights but also guide women 1:1 along their cycle—helping them create real, lasting change beneath the surface.
Sophie immediately connected with that feeling. As a gynecologist in training, she sees firsthand how gaps in knowledge about the menstrual cycle can impact women’s health. Many women are told menstrual challenges are simply “normal” – too often, their symptoms are dismissed or minimized, or even underlying illnesses are overlooked for years. This is an issue shaped by longstanding systemic biases in healthcare and society. She is committed to sharing clear, evidence-based information that helps women truly understand their cycles – because understanding is the first step toward taking meaningful action. In a digitalized world flooded with information, she works to cut through the noise and provide guidance women can really trust.
That’s when everything came together.
We realized the potential of combining medical education and coaching experience to create a space where women can learn, connect, and feel truly supported.
That time at Lake Constance marked the beginning of Fem. – born from curiosity, female friendship, and a shared vision to contribute to improve women’s health. The Fem. mission is to ensure that women feel heard, supported, and well-informed about their cycles, empowering them to make informed choices and build a confident, proactive relationship with their bodies.
And the best part? Once Sophie completes her medical training, she will be joining Fem. officially, bringing her expertise fully on board. We can’t wait.
